Limiting nitrogen emissions and reducing deposition - or nitrogen precipitation - goes beyond the agricultural sector. The demise of the PAS has created a situation where many housing, road, water and industrial construction projects are currently at a standstill. The Dutch government wants to reduce nitrogen emissions and will soon come up with new nitrogen regulations to that end. Until then, it is good to look for other possibilities to still be able to realize construction projects in the short term.
Not only for agricultural companies, but also for construction projects outside the agricultural sector, DLV Advies makes calculations using the RIVM's so-called Aerius program. This program calculates the dispersion of nitrogen through the air and the deposition and contains all the basic data needed for the calculations, such as maps and data. Our consultants are experienced with these calculations and can use this for you to see if the building project, without further necessary measures, can proceed in the new situation.
We recently performed NOx calculations with Aerius for the expansion of a processing area. The conclusion was that this expansion has no adverse effects on nearby Natura 2000 areas, with the result that the permit was actually granted. This shows that even in the current situation, after the removal of the PAS, it is possible to obtain a permit and allow construction projects to go ahead. Similar calculations are currently being done for supermarkets and housing projects.
Because DLV Advies has a good understanding of developments in the outdoor area, we can perform very accurate calculations for other sectors in construction. This gives you concrete results and clarity on the current situation that you can move forward with.
