Innovative blinds give large windows sleek look

For the architect, it is a constant search for solutions that link functionality to aesthetics. During Gevel 2020, Duco Ventilation & Sun Control will present innovative sun protection systems that are interesting for architects because of their design. With these innovations, the specialist in ventilation and sunprotection responds to the increasingly stringent requirements for the shell of (almost) energy-neutral buildings.

BENG is a challenge for the entire building column. Due to increasingly stringent requirements and modern building styles with large windows, the energy performance issue is shifting from winter to summer. On the exhibition floor, Duco will present the architectural sun protection DucoSun Cubic Design, which features LED strips integrated into the aluminum profile. Geraerts: 'This sun protection can be combined with slats of different thicknesses. In movable arrangement, the blinds can rotate up to 360°.'

 'We also have a lot to offer in terms of fabric sun protection,' Geraerts says. 'For facades with large areas of glass in our streetscape, the DucoScreen Front 150 in storm-proof FIX version with a height and width of six meters offers solace. Are you looking for fabric sun protection with a drop arm? Then there is the DucoScreen Front 150 CAP with a new, solid motor. This exterior sun protection system with extension arm is the perfect solution in the fight against overheating. In Rotterdam, Duco is also showing DucoSlide LuxFrame XXL. Geraerts: 'These sliding panels have wing-shaped Ellips 150 slats and can handle heights of up to 6 meters. Thanks to a 45° angle of inclination, you achieve optimal heat and light suppression with DucoSlide LuxFrame XXL.'

But there is more! During Gevel, the public will also admire the DucoSlide range. During the fair, Duco will introduce the new sliding panels DucoSlide Wood Vertical. Geraerts: 'These wooden sliding panels with vertical slats have a sleek design thanks to the invisible frame profile. The panels, made of durable western red cedar, can be motorized. There is also the option of using BiFold or double QuadraFold folding panels.'
