For the projects Houtrak in Amsterdam and Stadswinkel in Tilburg, WEBO supplied the wooden window frames, which were prefabricated in the factory in the HSB and Scaffoldless® elements have been assembled. A unique feature of these projects is the use of wood as a biobased and circular material whenever possible. The choice for the BENG and NOM window frame® was a logical choice in this regard. At Houtrak, Scaffoldless® elements, prefabricated with circular Azobé cladding derived from old sheet pile walls. At the City Store, Fraké was applied as sustainable cladding. Both projects had challenges around sustainability, performance and fire safety.

In the project Houtrak WEBO has both the NOM-Kozijn® as Wood-Alu-Frame® applied, equipped with triple glazing. Both the window frames (glass and top coat) and the Azobé cladding - have already been installed in the factory in the Scaffoldless® HSB elements installed. This allowed the elements to be assembled directly from the crane on the cramped construction site. The complete elements, constructed from wood, offered a solution for this project in which sustainability and circularity are paramount. At various places in the façade elements WEBO installed fire-resistant wooden window frames and the WoodAlu-Frame Fireproof® applied, provided with a mandatory CE marking in accordance with EN 16034 (supplement to EN 14351-1). The cladding elements feature the Euroclass B-S2-D0 classification (EN 13501-1), the fire safety standard for prefabricated façade elements within the European Union.
For the transformation of the City store in Tilburg WEBO also delivered NOM Windows, which were prefabricated into the HSB elements. A special feature is that the window frames are made of Accoya®, a durable modified softwood that is not inferior to the best tropical hardwood. To preserve the natural look of the wood, a transparent finish was chosen. Also in this project, WEBO fireproof frames applied, made of oak. These window frames were coated with a custom transparent varnish to match the color and appearance of the transparent Accoya®. Furthermore, WEBO applied 10 different types of glass, such as shadowbox glazing and soundproof glass. Fraké slats were used as sustainable cladding at the City Store.
At both Houtrak and the City Shop, WEBO completed the complete HSB and Scaffoldless® elements - including window frames - engineered (BIM) and produced. At Houtrak, WEBO also handled the assembly.
