Effective July 2, 2020, BMI Benelux acquired the remaining 50% shares in RBB N.V. in Tessenderlo Belgium from Etex N.V. With this acquisition BMI Benelux further expands its market position in the Belgian roofing market.
The acquisition of the RBB concrete portfolio and concrete production of Etex fits perfectly with the strategy of BMI Benelux. As a total provider of complete roof systems, this acquisition offers BMI Benelux the opportunity to further expand its activities in the sloping roof area.
Bert de Ru, Managing Director BMI Benelux: 'The acquisition of the remaining share package from the former joint venture RBB in Tessenderlo is closely aligned with BMI Group's global strategy and ambition to offer a total package of solutions and systems for both flat and pitched roofs. This acquisition allows us to serve the market and our Belgian customers even better. We look forward to welcoming the team from RBB Tessenderlo into our organization.
The sales activities of RBB's concrete portfolio will be taken over by BMI Belgium's Sales team. 'This acquisition offers many advantages for the customers in Belgium,' emphasizes Daisy Saeys, Sales Director BMI Belgium. 'We are a strong supplier in total solutions for both pitched and flat roofs and therefore have a very broad knowledge of the roof. The customers are going to benefit from that, so as far as we're concerned it's a real win/win situation.'
'We are convinced that RBB will be in good hands with BMI Benelux,' according to Paul Van Oyen, CEO of Etex. 'Our subsidiary Creaton Benelux will be able to concentrate on its core business - clay tiles - within the Creaton network.'
