Much attention is paid to sports and dance and the colors of the facade therefore refer to gold, silver and bronze medals. It was Bijlbouw from Alblasserdam who realized the facades of the special school.
"The first time we laid eyes on the drawings, we immediately thought: this fits Bijlbouw exactly," says Guus Hoogland, sales manager at Bijlbouw. "A high quality finish was requested and the whole facade image suited us." The building will feature anodized aluminum cassettes in gold, silver and bronze tones. These were attached using an aluminum suspension system, with no fasteners visible. In addition, profiled sheets were used that were finished with a high-quality powder coating. Hoogland: "We specialize in architectural residential and commercial construction. Therefore, this design fit us like a glove."
At Leonardo College, the facade is prominent. It is a striking element that determines the appearance of the school. It is a nice reference project for Bijlbouw, partly thanks to the good cooperation with client Lithos bouw & ontwikkeling. The two companies are no strangers to each other, Hoogland says. "Our previous cooperation went very well and this time too everything went smoothly. We work with our own engineers, project managers and assembly people, and they experienced few struggles. The cladding, the color of the window frames and the stairs on the outside make it a building with a very attractive appearance. We are proud to have had such a big part in that."
