Eindhoven-based roofAlliance is a relatively young company founded only 5 years ago by Koos van Dommelen and Bart van Goch. However, both owners already had more than 25 years of specific experience in the field of innovative roof solutions, product innovation and project management.
"As our name suggests, we specialize in roofing and prefer to work with a select group of contractors and suppliers to offer clients a suitable solution for their projects," stated Van Goch. "Our core business is in the supply and installation of sustainable solutions for new construction and renovation projects, as well as the maintenance of existing roofs. We are good at creating flat roofs, for example green roofs or energy roofs, and installing roof safety devices. Reference projects include the Provinciehuis (tower roof) of Den Bosch, the Centrumplan in Rosmalen, the Afrika Museum in Berg en Dal and Sportcomplex Drieburcht in Tilburg."
The architect and client created an iconosch building with a striking facade and chose an aesthetic and, most importantly, sustainable roof finish.
Drijvers is one of those contracting companies they regularly work with at roofAlliance. The contractor also contacted Van Dommelen and Van Goch for the new Gold Forum distribution center in Eindhoven. "Architectural firm Pauwert and client Kero Vastgoedontwikkeling created an iconic building with a striking gold-colored facade and also chose an aesthetic and above all sustainable roof finish. We installed a roof covering based on PVC thick 1.5 mm from Alkorplan and PIR insulation from Unilin, which is extremely suitable for the installation of solar panels. Moreover, the safety systems, in other words the line systems with synthetic cables from MARQ, are also ours," Van Goch explains.
"Technically, this project may not be all that exceptional, but the 20,000-square-meter area and the fact that it is a BREEAM project make it special. Moreover, we are faced with a fairly short lead time. For example, the hall had to be completely watertight by the time the construction work was completed. The exceptional weather conditions with days of extremely high temperatures were a factor not to be underestimated. Our teams, representing some fifteen people, started at 5 a.m. in the morning so that they could go home by noon. In no time, this phase of the work was completed. Now the second phase will follow, addressing the roof of the office space."
