Business Park Flight Forum Eindhoven | New DC to become most prominent building on Business Park Flight Forum

Business Park Flight Forum in Eindhoven will soon get a new distribution center. Commissioned by KERO Vastgoedontwikkeling, the architects of Pauwert Architectuur designed a striking new building with a gold-colored facade, BREEAM 'Very Good' certified. Contractor company M.P. Drijvers B.V. was commissioned to build the spacious 20,000-square-meter hall and an adjacent 1,000-square-meter office space. The contractor began work at the beginning of March, with the project scheduled for completion at the end of 2019.

Flight Forum is Eindhoven's Brainport business park. On this mixed business park with a total size of approximately 65 hectares near Eindhoven Airport, business premises are scattered in the landscape like boulders. The business park includes the Silver Forum distribution center, which has a striking, organic shape with a silver curved façade finish. "Commissioned by KERO Real Estate Development, the central cluster on the site is now being completed with Gold Forum, which is architecturally and functionally one with Silver Forum," says Martin Drijvers, fifth generation of the eponymous contracting company. "The new distribution center will have a gold-colored curved façade finish and when completed will be the most prominent building on the site."

BREEAM 'Very Good' certified

Aannemersbedrijf M.P Drijvers B.V. was founded in 1902 by Michel Drijvers and, more than 100 years later, has grown into an all-round contractor for new construction, rebuilding, renovation, restoration and maintenance. The family business from 's-Hertogenbosch is now run by the fourth generation of Drijvers, has a permanent team of thirty-five experienced employees and carries out assignments for private individuals, housing corporations, municipalities and educational institutions, as well as companies and project developers. Recent projects include the transformation of the Mariënburg monastery in 's-Hertogenbosch into the JADS University Campus, the transformation of the former Philips NatLab in Eindhoven into the creative vocational school Sint-Lucas, and the renovation of the Petruskerk church in Vught into the DePetrus meeting center.

"We have also carried out projects for KERO Vastgoedontwikkeling to their satisfaction in the past, including the new construction of a distribution center in Venlo. Therefore, they also contacted us for the realization of the new distribution center in Eindhoven with an industrial hall of 20,000 m² and 1,000 m² of office space. The new building volume rests on a large steel structure and a facade with an organic form in gold-colored sandwich panels. In the hall, a flat concrete floor was chosen, while in the offices a cement screed was opted for. LED lighting with motion detection and daylight sensors was provided everywhere," Drijvers explains the project. "For us, this is the first BREEAM 'Very Good' certified project. That is also why we engaged a consultant, who was able to guide us in every phase to bring the project to a successful conclusion."

Deadline in late 2019

The contractor started work at the beginning of March this year, and by the construction holiday, the industrial hall was finished watertight. Today they are still working hard to finish the office spaces as well. "By the end of this year, the project should be completely finished," Drijvers concludes. "In the meantime, we have already signed a contract with KERO Real Estate Development for another project, this time with BREEAM 'Outstanding' certification."
