Every structure is identical. Say this and you have the average builder/developer on your neck. But if you look at a structure process-wise, VORM is convinced that a structure is identical for at least 90%. "Yet our industry excels in constantly reinventing the wheel. With KYP FLOW, VORM and KYP are changing this. With this we are digitizing our business processes and we can 'shape' and improve all processes," says Norbert Schotte, Innovation Manager at VORM.
What started as an idea in 2014 and resulted in printed T-cards in the office at VORM has grown into KYP FLOW. Today, VORM and KYP have committed their unique partnership to paper. KYP is major shareholder and VORM co-owner of KYP FLOW. Together they will continue to further develop KYP FLOW. Stan Roestenberg, director of KYP FLOW: "With KYP FLOW, everyone can take a big step in improving their own business processes, allowing project teams to work more independently and efficiently towards a better end result."
The three themes of KYP FLOW
Shape, Focus and Feedback are the three themes of KYP FLOW. A company "shapes" its processes within KYP FLOW into a standardized process. For example, a developer always conducts an area analysis and risk analysis. Foundation costs are always prepared and a construction cost estimate is always prepared. If this process is established in KYP Flow and occurs in every project, you could do better every time. Through the KYP Flow app, every project participant is aware of what, when and how something needs to be done, keeping the focus on priorities.
Continuous improvement
It is important to continuously improve the standard. Taiichi Ohno, founder of the Toyota Production System (TPS), said, "You shouldn't think about standards, you should keep them. You should think about how to improve the standard." When a task is completed, the participant is given the opportunity to give feedback on the task. In this way, together you ensure that the standard keeps improving.
