Internal transportation biggest challenge for finisher

All dry screeds, metal stud walls and ceilings for the De Meester project were supplied and installed by Stam Montagebouw. Project Manager Jos van der Waal: "It is an impressive and large building with quite a history. That makes it a lot of fun to be able to work on."

Stam Montagebouw specializes in dry finishing, such as dry screeds, metal stud walls and ceilings and suspended ceilings. Founder Marco Stam started the company 24 years ago, which now has seven people in the office and a large number of fitters. Says Van der Waal, "We have about sixty fitters working every day and also a pool of fifty to sixty fitters that we can deploy extra during busy periods."

At De Meester, Stam Montagebouw started in November 2021 and the project will be completed in the first quarter of 2023. "It was a big project for us. During the busiest period we had about 35 to 40 people working for us for months. We had worked with the Future Group before and thanks to the pleasant cooperation, there are more projects to come."

Trucks full 

Price increases no longer escape anyone, but the company managed to avoid supply problems on this project. "We stocked up quite a bit a few times so that the work was not delayed. For example, we had trucks full of insulation materials coming. In fact, all the walls and ceilings were fitted with various types of insulation on this project."

The biggest challenge for the finisher was in internal transportation. "Transportation is always difficult in our work because we use large and heavy materials. Therefore, we always consider in advance what is the best way. In this case, a hole was made in the roof so we could hoist the plates in there with the ToekomstGroep tower crane."
