When we hear the word "stairs," we quickly envision all shapes and sizes. From that small escape staircase in the far corner of the building that takes us out in panic situations to that impressive eye-catcher in the lobby of the public building.
"No matter what kind of staircase it is about, producing a staircase requires expert knowledge," says Sjef Wauben, director of Wauben Productie bv. "The relationship between on and off must be right, the slope and safety must be justified and the staircase must be able to perform the desired function. Not to mention design and appearance."
Wauben Production manufactures and assembles staircases, escape stairs, spiral staircases, spiral staircases, bridge stairs and machine stairs. In most cases, the frame is made of steel, then combined with other materials such as aluminum, wood or glass.
"Often the staircase has already been designed by a structural engineer or architect," Wauben says. "In that case, we check the design - we have to be able to stand behind it - and execute it. But we get at least as happy from the private customer who has drawn a few lines on an A4 sheet and tells us that this is to be the staircase that will make a difference in his interior. Our creative people take incredible pleasure in guiding the design process for this very customer."
In addition to stairs, Wauben Productie bv supplies stair railings, loose stair treads, anti-slip steps and grating steps. "One-stop shopping," Wauben summarizes. "We are there for the measurement and design of the staircase all the way through to production and installation."
