Discover the latest BUVA innovations in ventilation technology and hardware!

During the Energy Trade Fair in the Brabanthallen, BUVA presented a selection of innovations within the BUVA homecare systems, which focus on healthy indoor air, sustainably produced heat and safely sealed windows and doors. Specific attention was given to an innovative home ventilation and multi-point locking system. Curious about which innovative solutions BUVA wants to conquer the market with?

EVOLUTION IN VENTILATION TECHNOLOGY

In our modern society, we spend on average 90% of our time indoors, in the home or office. Good indoor air quality is therefore essential for our health and well-being. BUVA responds optimally to this with a healthy, comfortable and highly flexible domestic ventilator which, thanks to high-end specifications such as whisper-quiet operation, optimal range, low energy consumption and a modular design, will ensure an evolution in the market.

The resident central

When developing the Q-Stream Evolution, BUVA put the occupant at the center. Health and comfort come first in the design. Moreover, the solution is very flexible. In use, but also during installation, adjustment and service, making it even easier to guarantee the desired performance and optimal comfort. The domestic ventilation unit comes standard with a clock program, whisper-quiet and energy-efficient EC fans and relative humidity sensors, which continuously measure the moisture content in the extracted room air. Based on the measurement results, the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms, for example, are ventilated in a demand-driven manner. Optional expansion with CO₂ sensors is possible, taking indoor air quality to an even higher level. With its compact dimensions of 380x385x180 mm (lxwxh), the Q-Stream Evolution is ideal for both new construction and renovation projects.

Flexible ventilation solution, optimal range

The Q-Stream Evolution has several declarations of equivalence and scores very high in EPC, EI and BENG calculations. The residential fan is pre-programmed as standard according to the fixed values from NEN 8088-1. Thanks to the sophisticated USB programming with USB port in both each control unit and in the MV box, installers can easily optimize settings, if occupants wish. The modular design also makes it easy to add or change functions.

The Q-Stream Evolution is available with battery-powered, box-powered (12V) or mains-powered (230V) operation. With this, BUVA offers a very flexible range. All combinations are possible. The sensors and controls are equipped with an innovative and optimized communication protocol as well as the possibility of a central repeater function. This guarantees an optimal range, which is up to two times better than comparable systems.

INNOVATIVE MULTI-POINT LOCKING

Wooden exterior doors, frames and hardware often have to endure a lot. They are subject to weather influences, which can affect their shape. Dark wooden doors in particular have a tendency to warp. For example as a result of (building) moisture, a (too) high solar load, the heating in a house or a combination of these. During construction, these influences play an even greater role. In practice, unfortunately, it still happens regularly that builders are unable to close all the doors when closing the construction site. Sometimes forceful attempts are made to lock refusing locks, resulting in damage. Sand, dust or other construction debris can impede smooth operation of door locking systems. However, incorrect assembly and adjustment work also regularly causes problems and failure costs. The new, innovative BUVA MultiFin multi-point locking system combats this.

Integrated day/night latch

The MultiFin multi-point lock is reliable, flexible and easy to install. Innovatively, the day/night latch is integrated into one function. Thanks to the so-called two-stage day/night bolt, a small locking bowl and milling in the frame are sufficient. In addition, the dimensions of the center locking bowl correspond to the secondary locking bowls at the top and bottom of the frame.

Also unique are the MultiFin secondary bolts. Whereas the secondary bolts normally hook into the frame, BUVA has opted for triangular fin bolts that stick straight into the frame. The corresponding Inline+ secondary locking bowls have a spring action that allows the door, with a tolerance of up to 8 mm, to always move freely. Opening and closing problems with shrinkage/extension are no longer an issue.

Left and right reversible

A nice detail is the universal direction of rotation of the lock. The bolt is designed so that it can be turned 180 degrees (left and right reversible). Naturally, the whole system meets the burglar resistance requirements of the Building Decree. A drainage hole at the bottom of the MultiFin multi-point lock ensures that - when no door fitting is yet attached - moisture in the lock case can easily drain behind the front plate. This prevents the moving rod behind the faceplate from getting stuck in the winter when it freezes. But even in everyday use, when the door is open and water hits the latch, the water can easily drain away.

Uniform screw hole geometry, equal milling

The front plate of the MultiFin has been given the same screw hole geometry as the BUVA Atlas Inside hinge. This allows the same screws to be used for all BUVA hardware. The MultiFin is available in two lengths (1,772 and 2,090 mm) and requires the same milling on the door side as the well-known BUVA 6000 and 7000 series. A logical choice, because these lock series can so easily be exchanged. This is particularly interesting for the renovation market because door manufacturers can keep the known milling dimensions. The easy exchange also applies to the locking bowls Midline and Inline+. BUVA has designed special adapters for the renovation market, so that the new locking bolts also fit into existing routings.
