Door communication system for Waterside II is powerful, future-proof and fully pluggable

On the banks of the River Maas in Rotterdam, construction is underway on project Waterside II; a new construction site with 124 apartments in the freehold sector. The design is distinguished by a special, stepped structure with large glass areas and gold-colored facade details. But also by a perfect finish and a high level of occupant comfort. Vercoma's innovative iPlusBUS door communication system fits in perfectly with this.

"Big advantage of iPlusBUS is its simplicity," stresses Arjan Schouten, Manager Sales & Service at Vercoma. "Moreover, the diversity of components is low. For the realization of Waterside II, our regular relationship Van den Pol Elektrotechniek had already made a design for the door communication system in advance and in-house. We were then asked to test the design and to help think about the door switching of the day/night lock. We supplied a doorbell panel for both the outer door and the inner door in the vestibule. We chose our compact BEOKEY-C code scroll panels in a high-quality stainless steel finish. On our recommendation, a time switch was also included so that, for example, the mail carrier can easily reach the mailboxes in the porch."

Plug-and-play

With iPlusBUS from Beoview, Vercoma offers a future-proof, powerful and flexible door communication system that can bridge large distances and has unlimited connection capacity. "iPlusBUS offers all the advantages of full-IP door communication technology, but in combination with the familiar traditional simple bus infrastructure," Schouten says. "Other IP systems on the market are star-wired, making installation complex and expensive. iPlusBUS changes this. In fact, thanks to this door communication system, installers no longer need all the extra cabling. Only one supply line goes upstairs, on which the installer can make branches to the apartments using T-Switches. Because Van den Pol is working with patch cables (pre-crimped UTP cables) in this project, connection errors are prevented and a 100% failsafe installation is created." At Vercoma's assembly department in Wormerveer, all components for the iPlusBUS system are carefully engineered, configured and programmed. "Also, the mounting cabinets for the central facilities room are already completely assembled and pre-wired here, allowing the complete system to be connected plug-and-play."

User-friendly

All apartments in Waterside II will receive a BEOVIEW7 Lite-S 7″ door video monitor; a user-friendly touchscreen monitor with an intuitive graphical user interface and various expansion options. Consider, for example, the integration of a BWCM Wifi click-in module so that residents can also receive their calls on their smartphones. "On their screen, they will soon be able to see exactly which door is ringing."
