When glass is fire-resistant you don't see it, but it makes a big difference. If a fire breaks out, the glass keeps the fire and heat to one side, providing a safe escape route. AGC's fire-resistant glass stops flames, smoke and gas for up to 180 minutes, which is longer than the Dutch requirement. With Pyrobel Vision Line, you also have the choice of glass walls without vertical profiles.
Jan Liebeton is product manager for fire-resistant glass at AGC. He explains that fire-resistant glass contains an interlayer that foams up when needed. In this way, a heat shield is created. "This property can be combined with soundproofing and burglarproofing properties and additional insulation. This enables a transparent working and living environment."
Additional transparency is created with Pyrobel Vision Line; fire-resistant glass walls without vertical profiles. The glass panels are connected with a transparent silicone joint. This enables a sleek design. Liebeton: "Starting this summer, we will also offer Vision Line for smaller projects."
AGC's products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. They are produced and tested by the company itself at seven locations. In addition, there are twenty sales locations in the Netherlands. The products are also tested by independent European certified test institutes. The fire-retardant glazing meets all applicable requirements, standards and guidelines, is Cradle to Cradle Silver certified and comes with a ten-year warranty. On AGC-Pyrobel's website, you can find a product selector to see which product best suits a project. "We have a very comprehensive and good website where you can find a lot of information about products and application possibilities," Liebeton said.
