Custom doors entirely according to family tradition

Two and a half years ago Weekamp Deuren came under the banner of Deli Home and thus became a sister company of Skantrae. A good move on Deli Home's part, as it initiated a piece of market expansion. Frank van Putten, head of marketing for Weekamp and Skantrae, talks about the authenticity of Weekamp Deuren and the numerous possibilities the former family business offers in terms of customization and support.

Ideal for renovation purposes

"Whereas Skantrae as a brand mainly works with standard door concepts that are sold to contractors and self-employed people through building materials wholesalers and dealers, Weekamp mainly serves the contracting industry and specializes in custom doors and project support," Van Putten opens the conversation. "Within Weekamp Deuren we distinguish a number of divisions, including trade, retail, industry and renovation. For renovations, Weekamp Deuren has rolled out the Renotrack concept, which serves housing associations and social housing corporations. These parties are completely unburdened when it comes to windows and doors. This ranges from digital measuring and project communication to the painting of the doors and windows."

Working market-wide

From Deli Home, the company works market-wide. Deliveries by Skantrae are made to retail, DIY stores, the professional door market and large building materials wholesalers. Weekamp Deuren focuses mainly on processors, contractors and self-employed people in addition to the trade. Van Putten: "Skantrae is known for its concepts and unburdening processors, Wehkamp is known for the high-end customization that is delivered, combined with extensive support."

The digital carpentry factory of the future

Deli Home's vision is to become the digital joinery of the future. "We really want to remove all barriers for the customer," Van Putten said. "Then it's about measuring in, ordering and configuring online. We are currently working hard on new digital solutions within Weekamp Deuren, which we are able to do through the acquisition of a software company. Digital configurators are being developed in-house to bring online customization closer to the craftsman. You will soon be able to configure a custom door via the website, with the price always in view. The final price runs along with the configuration, so you know exactly what you are paying for your specific configuration. Once you have configured the door, one push of a button is enough to order it. By working this way, we eliminate retyping orders. That prevents errors. The great thing is that the configurator is also immediately the online catalog, as all possible options are immediately selectable on the screen."

Weekamp Deuren was already well automated internally; however, the automation shell is now being brought outward. "Everything in the service of the customer," says Van Putten. "It's a titanic job associated with the implementation of a new ERP system. Complex matter that we are currently working hard on, in order to soon be able to serve the customer optimally in providing customized solutions."
