Lelystad is increasingly turning toward the water. A good example of this is Bataviahaven: an ambitious new development plan with several residential blocks, right on the marina. Just before the summer, a striking nine-story apartment building was completed, with 42 rental and 36 owner-occupied apartments. The plinth contains commercial spaces. The design for the new building was inspired by Amsterdam's Golden Age warehouses. The apartments are equipped with every luxury and comfort. The door intercom and access control systems of Vercoma Communication Systems B.V. fit in perfectly with this.
The new building with its distinctive towers was realized by Van Wijnen. Breman Hasselt was responsible for the mechanical installations, while Lodema Elektrotechniek from Leeuwarden handled the construction of the electrical installations and low-voltage technology. "We have a long-standing relationship with Lodema," says Paula Helsloot-Mone, Internal Sales Team Leader at Vercoma. "In this project, too, we were involved at a very early stage. Initially we were to supply sec the door intercom systems, but soon access control was added. In addition to the main entrance, for example, the access doors to the storerooms and the parking garage also had to be included in the access control system. In addition, the system had to enable simple and real-time mutation and key management. Together with Lodema and based on these principles, we selected the most suitable system." Above all, the door intercom system had to ensure simple and fast installation. In addition, specific aesthetic requirements applied. "Groosman Architects designed a building with a 'golden entrance.' We fit in with this with a gold-colored instead of stainless steel code scroll panel. On the outside, on the contrary, a black finish was chosen, which blends perfectly with the aesthetics of the facade."
For access control in the apartment building, Vercoma supplied its iP-Opener system; a very powerful access control system over IP specifically designed for medium to large buildings. "The heart of the iP-Opener system is the cloud-based software program iP-Opener Manager, which guarantees optimum flexibility as well as security," Helsloot-Mone said. "Without expensive licensing or subscription fees. The system can be set up intelligently and is intuitive to use. Mutations can be entered and modified in real time. Locally, but also remotely. An internet connection is sufficient for this. Moreover, the modular system can be expanded at any time. Both in terms of possibilities and the number of connections. This makes the system future-proof in advance."
As the door communication system, Vercoma recommended and supplied the 2-wire GTwin system. "This system is also very powerful, has the capacity to cover long distances and can handle a large number of connections," Helsloot-Mone said. "In addition, GTwin is easy and lightning-fast to install, meeting an important desire in the market. This project also required a code-scrolling panel. This is because in it, names and other data can easily be changed without the building manager having to go on site. Where the entrance inside and outside is equipped with a Nexa Inox flush-mounted speech panel in gold and black, TEKNA-S GTwin color monitors with horn were used in the rental and owner-occupied apartments."
"With the door intercom and access control systems for Bataviahaven Lelystad, we provide a total package, which even includes the Internet facilities," Helsloot-Mone emphasizes. "If desired, we can also take maintenance and mutations off your hands, completely relieving installers, clients and end users."
