Ter Steege buys Odink & Koenderink site in Haaksbergen

Ter Steege Gebiedsontwikkeling has purchased the Odink & Koenderink industrial site. The site of approximately 30,000 m2, is located on Parallelweg in Haaksbergen. For the next few years the business activities here will continue and Ter Steege will rent the premises. In the meantime, Ter Steege Gebiedsontwikkeling is working on plans to develop the site into a beautiful residential area.

The location between Parallelweg and de Ruijterstraat is a wonderful place to live. Close to the center, close to schools and opposite the Museum Buurtspoor. The municipal structural vision already includes the conversion of this industrial site into a residential area. Between the municipality of Haaksbergen and Ter Steege the first, positive discussions have now taken place.

Ter Steege Area Development adds a nice addition to its development portfolio with this purchase. "Sites of this size, inner-city on historic land, suit us perfectly. In our plan De Bleekerij in Boekelo, nota bene at the other end of the Museum Buurtspoor, we have shown how we breathe new life into old sites," said Gijs Takkenkamp, director of Ter Steege Area Development.

As the area is developed, local residents will be involved and future residents will have the opportunity to express their housing needs. "For this purpose, we will launch a website after the summer vacation (www.okterreinhaaksbergen.nl), so that the housing requirements will form the input for the urban development plan," indicates Ter Steege regional manager Erwin Tijhof. With his team and the municipality, he will start working out the plans in the coming period. Given the continuation of the lease of the buildings and the amendment of the zoning plan, he foresees a start of sales in more than two years.

In this transaction, the seller, ABB b.v., was assisted by broker CBRE of Amsterdam. Ter Steege was advised in this transaction by international advisor Cushman & Wakefield.
