Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
The course of a construction project depends on several factors

The progress of a construction project depends on several factors

Floors in existing and new parking garage will be done with similar coating system

How a project turns out can never be determined exactly in advance. It depends on many factors. For the realization of the new parking garage with superstructure, project developer Peter van Dijk was able to call on a team of expert and enthusiastic construction partners. SealteQ Noord was commissioned by the municipality of Emmen to renovate the floors of the existing parking garage and was simultaneously approached by AKOR bouw to finish the floors in the new construction project with a similar coating system.

All ramps were treated with an epoxy wear layer infused with Amaril.

Location, climatic conditions, season, planning, the involvement of employees, suppliers and client, the coating system, ..., these are all factors that make a project unique. Over the years, the SealteQ Group has had the opportunity to finish and renovate many parking garages. "Over the past 40 years we have evolved from a specialist in concrete renovation and repair, watertight injection of (ground) water leaks and floor finishes to a leading player in life-extending maintenance of concrete and steel. We have therefore already carried out many different projects throughout the Netherlands," says project manager Harald Hoogeveen. "The municipality of Emmen approached us for the renovation of the floors on levels -1 and -2 of the existing parking garage under the Willinkplein/Raadhuisplein, accounting for 10,000 m². Since AKOR construction is building a new parking garage of about 5,000 m² against the existing basement, they also contacted us to finish the parking garage floor in this section with a similar coating system from Master Builders Solutions (BASF)."

SealterQ North also took care of finishing the parking lots with parking bays, arrows, walkways and pedestrian crossings and all necessary pictograms.

Finishing to the smallest detail

Work began with mechanical pre-treatment and dust removal of the floors. A bulky epoxy scraper coating was then applied, which was then full and saturated. The floors on level -2 of the existing parking garage and level -1 of the new parking lot were finished with a wear-resistant coating layer type MasterSeal Traffix 2273 from Master Builders Solutions (BASF).

On the -1 floor of the existing parking garage (intermediate deck), the specialist applied a crack-bridging solution similar to the above product, but equipped with a membrane as an additional intermediate layer, type MasterSeal Traffic 2264. Finally, SealteQ North provided the finish with parking bays, arrows, walkways and crosswalks and all necessary pictograms, and all ramps were treated with an epoxy wear layer infused with Amaril. "We started working on the first phase of this project at the end of January. On average, we were working on site in shifts of six, including a cooperating foreman. For the application of the crack-bridging membrane in the third and final phase of work, we deployed a team of 8 people," Hoogeveen indicates. "We recently completed another project in Zeist and are working on two construction sites in Enschede and one in Deventer. We were also involved in the renovation of the Van Heek parking garage in Enschede, a parking lot on Westerstraat in Emmen, the UMCG Noord/Zuid and CiBoGa in Groningen and quite a few other garage and industrial floors of medium and larger projects throughout the Netherlands."
