Climate floors increase comfort in apartments

"We prefer to talk about a climate floor because this term covers the load better," says one at Klimaatvloeren Nederland. The company from Breukelen provides complete underfloor heating installations for small and large projects. This involves close cooperation with professional central heating installers. For example, this specialist was involved by the Werkendamse Verwarmings Industrie in new construction project Verde Vista Centrumplan in Zoeterwoude, with its 150 sustainable apartments.

Klimaatvloeren Nederland may have only been founded in July 2021, but its knowledge and experience are ample. The owner has been specializing in underfloor heating since 2008 and has also earned his stripes as an employee in the installation industry. "We are a loyal partner of the central heating installer for underfloor heating and cooling. Everything is done in-house: design, laying plans, production, packaging, transport, installation and overhaul," says project manager Elisa van Maldegem. "Our added value is in the data we put on the drawings of the laying plans. We mention the starting points in terms of floor structure, temperatures, group lengths, flow rates and pressure losses as well as all the materials needed. The earlier we are involved in a project, the better we can work out and prepare the installation."

Sustainable apartments

Thus Klimaatvloeren Nederland was also called in by the Werkendamse Verwarmings Industrie for the underfloor heating installations in the 150 apartments of the project in Zoeterwoude. "We have built up a good relationship with this installation company over the years, so they came straight to us this time as well. Together we made the design and looked at the materials needed. Then the complete laying plan and the pattern of the pipes were worked out. After approval of our designs, production and delivery followed. We always strive to use as little packaging material as possible to reduce waste and costs. Finally, both floor heating and floor insulation were installed by our fitters on site," explains the project manager. "Every project has its challenges and here it was primarily the size. Good planning and communication were crucial to bring everything to a successful conclusion."
