The e-commerce market in the Netherlands is booming. By 2022, we will have placed as many as 33.3 billion euros worth of online orders, which means that parcel services are now driving back and forth to deliver our packages. The bulk of packages are still delivered to people's homes. Also to residents of apartment buildings, in which increasingly a parcel locker is placed. "The disadvantage of these parcel safes is that they are often parcel service related," knows Arjan Schouten, Manager Sales & Service at Vercoma. "But also that the vestibule is accessible to everyone during the day, which compromises the (sense of) security. Together with CiPiO, we have developed a unique solution for this: Access & Parcels, which combines hassle-free package receiving and a safe and organized entrance."
The continuing growth in home deliveries presents residents and apartment complex managers with major challenges. Having to stay home for receiving, inconvenience to neighbors, packages piling up or disappearing and uninvited visitors in the front porch are just a few examples, for which CiPiO and Vercoma now offer an efficient and safe solution. "By placing a white label parcel machine (CiPiObox) in the vestibule of the apartment complex, any delivery service can easily and securely deliver its parcels," Schouten says. "From PostNL to DHL, DPD, UPS, Budbee and GLS. Vercoma's access technology here guarantees that only authorized
have access."
On the facade of the apartment complex, Vercoma is installing its iP-Opener access control system and iPlusBUS door video system, which allows residents and visitors to access the building efficiently and securely. But also a barcode scanner, which allows package deliverers to scan their packages. "Once scanned, address and house number are automatically checked," says Schouten. "Only then is the door to the vestibule opened once. At the package vending machine, the package is scanned a second time, after which a package compartment is automatically opened that matches the package size. Indeed, just like the address and house number, the size of the parcel is also read from the barcode. The resident then receives a unique code, which he can use to pick up his package at any time."
Developers, investors or VvEs who choose the integrated Access & Parcels solution retain their freedom at all times, Schouten emphasizes. "Should either service need to be changed in the future, they are not bound by a lock-in." Both Vercoma and CiPiO have extensive service and maintenance services that can be on site quickly anywhere in the Netherlands, if necessary.
