At Zwembad Waalslag in Tiel, the complete water treatment plant was made and installed by Polypla B.V., a family business founded in 1970. Polypla specializes in the construction of water treatment plants for spray parks and public swimming pools and the construction of private swimming pools.
Polypla's work is invisible to users, but critical to good water quality. Underneath the pool is a spacious basement, where the company installed a plant. This installation ensures that the swimming water is filtered and purified using filters, UV lamps and salt electrolysis. "We are particularly proud of the metal sand filters with a diameter of 2.5 and 2.8 meters and with a height of about 3.5 meters, which were manufactured at our facility in Kessel. Through this installation we create optimal water quality, which we can monitor remotely. The health of the users comes first," said Noud Hillen, work planner and technician at Polypla.
The plant filters some 185,000 liters of water per hour in the competition pool, after which the water is again optimally conditioned. This means that the entire content of the competition pool is fully purified every six hours. The pool water of the target group pool is fully purified every four hours.
"We are proud to have been part of the project team that realized this accommodation. We can speak of a beautiful accommodation, in which the cooperation with Wind Groep, Tankens Bouw and Drenth Installatietechniek was very good," Hillen said.
