The 315 lofts and apartments of Little C in Rotterdam will be equipped with Central Energy Recovery Airflow (CERA) ventilation systems from Barcol-Air. In close cooperation and coordination with client and partner Terberg Totaal Installaties, the Purmerend-based specialist in air distribution technology is also supplying all fan coil units for Family House Daniel den Hoed.

"Normally, ventilation boxes with an integrated filter, a fan and a heat exchanger are installed in high-rise houses, which ensure that the heat from the extracted room air is efficiently recovered," says Johan Mes, commercial director of Barcol-Air. "In this project, however, an alternative and new system was chosen, in which special ventilation control boxes (CERA units) are installed in the homes that sec the post-regulation. The filter, fan and heat exchanger are integrated into a central unit on the roof or in the technical room, resulting not only in lower energy consumption for ventilation and ventilation transmission, but also in an extremely quiet house installation. CO2 sensors can provide demand-controlled ventilation. In addition, occupants can manually (temporarily) influence the ventilation rate."
In the preliminary phase, Barcol-Air and Terberg worked in close consultation to determine the right air volumes, Mes says. "We also held various controls against the light. Our software engineers then translated the control technical description into customized software, which was incorporated into the control loops. All ventilation systems are delivered just-in-time and including corresponding wiring diagrams to the project, where Terberg takes care of the assembly, the aerial connections and associated cabling. Meanwhile, more than half of the ventilation systems have been delivered. Before the end of this year all techniques should be ready."
Barcol-Air supplies high-quality air distribution components and readjustment systems and has been part of the HC Group, the Dutch market leader in indoor climate technology, since 2007.
