In the new swimming pool, of course, much attention is paid to fire resistance within the building. For the engineering, production and realization of the doors, window frames, (semi-)structural curtain walls and automatic sliding doors, main contractor De Vries en Verburg involved the specialists of Meer Gevelystemen in the construction team.

Meer Facade Systems is a specialist in the design, manufacture and assembly of aluminum and steel facades. "For each project we develop a customized solution. For this we can count on the experience and expertise of our motivated employees. We also use the latest CNC machining centers and sawing machines as well as the most modern technologies, which are present in our sustainable production facility.
This has an area of 10,000 m² and is equipped with a heat pump and solar panels," says commercial director Gilbert van der Meer. "After more than 30 years, we have earned our spurs in utility and residential construction, both in new construction and renovation. Our product range includes high quality and high quality aluminum doors, automatic sliding doors, window frames and curtain walls."

For Meer Gevelystemen, this was a fine collaboration with main contractor De Vries en Verburg. "We were involved in the construction team for testing the design, production and realization of the window frames, doors, (semi-)structural curtain walls and automatic sliding doors. In itself an everyday project, yet complex due to the specific design and high fire resistance requirements. For example, triangular and trapezoidal window frames were used, which fitted perfectly into the design of the facade. The architect had made an initial design for the window frames, which we modified slightly in consultation, so that a version with tilt-and-turn windows was also technically feasible," the director explains. "This project took about 2 years in total. The first tender dates from 2019, over a year later we received the order and by the middle of 2021 the pool should be open."
