'Exactly as Van Mossel and the architect envisioned'

A fine and functional company garden in just three months

The craftsmen of multidisciplinary contracting company Van de Beeten® worked extremely hard to transform the Van Mossel construction site in Waalwijk into a fine and functional company garden, matching the impressive logistics center with headquarters. In just three months, the groundwork was carried out and underground infrastructure, paving and ponds were constructed. "In short: everything right up our alley!"

The assignment at Van Mossel began for Van de Beeten® back in 2021. "Commissioned by Bouwbedrijf van de Ven, we did the groundwork for the construction activities," explains Bart Tibosch, Manager of Outdoor Spatial Projects at Van de Beeten®. "Then we were approached by Van Mossel to also realize the company garden. A request we gladly answered and which again began with groundwork. Between January and April 2023, we transformed the construction site full of building materials and temporary paving into a functional and pleasant location to stay. In addition, we constructed a high-quality asphalt pavement that provides easy access to the new building all around. We constructed a wadi that stores rainwater, and a natural pond was created at the front. And the underground infra for the garden lighting and building lighting, sprinkling and water management was also our responsibility."

In order to realize all the work in a short time, 10-12 professionals from Van de Beeten® were present at the construction site every day. From excavator craftsmen to crane operators, pavers and installers, who worked from coarse to fine under the inspiring eye of the foreman. "As a finishing touch, several planters were realized on the site with 20- and 40-cm-high corten steel edges," Tibosch says. "The planters are filled with topsoil, into which the landscaper plants and shrubs. Laying out the grounds not tight and flat but rather undulating creates a special dimension. Exactly as Van Mossel and the architect envisioned."
