Sustainable 1930s-style single-family homes in a quiet and green environment

The construction of the condominiums in Hof van Bilthoven has started. Alderman Dolf Smolenaers of Gemeente de Bilt celebrated the start of construction of 72 owner-occupied homes on Melkweg in Bilthoven together with the future residents on October 14, 2019. For this, future residents Bart and Rianne laid the first foundation beam of their home together with the alderman. In Hof van Bilthoven, ERA Contour is developing and building 105 new homes in the popular 1930s style, including 72 owner-occupied homes and 33 rental homes for Woonstichting SSW. Bureau 070 is responsible for the architectural design.

A month earlier, ERA Contour had already started construction of the rental homes and this milestone was festively repeated this time for the start of construction of the owner-occupied homes. Alderman Dolf Smolenaers is enthusiastic about the arrival of the new construction project in Bilthoven: "After years of preparation, the time has come and we are getting 105 beautiful homes in our municipality. A very important development in this tense housing market. Bilthoven will soon have a beautiful new residential neighborhood."

"We are thrilled to create a new, quiet and child-friendly neighborhood at this spot in Bilthoven. It will be a nice place to live. Moreover, all homes are sustainably equipped because they are gasless and have a ground source heat pump. This provides cooling in the summer and heating in the winter. Each home will also have 3 or 4 solar panels on the roof. So as a resident you are doing something sustainable," says Emile Driesen, project developer of Hof van Bilthoven at ERA Contour.

Stylish living in greenery
Classic pointed roofs with overhanging gutters, yellow-colored bricks, narrow vertical windows and beautiful awnings over the front door. This Dudok-like style is what typifies Hof van Bilthoven. Along with the fact that it is located in a quiet green area where children can play nicely. The future residents can enjoy a front and back garden and private parking in the courtyard. A total of nine different housing types will be built in the new construction project.

Completion in summer 2020
