Gold eyecatcher along the A59

With the completion of the new logistics center with headquarters for Van Mossel in Waalwijk, MGB Cladding Systems has gained a beautiful business card. Located just 500 meters from MGB Cladding Systems, the impressive new building with its gold-colored facade bands perfectly shows what the specialist in exclusive metal facade systems is capable of...

With its many years of experience in facade construction, MGB Cladding Systems is able to transform any design and idea into a high-quality finished product. But also to perfectly match aesthetics, manufacturability and price. The new construction for Van Mossel makes this perfectly visible. "Commissioned by Bouwbedrijf van de Ven, we fitted both the logistics center and head office and the porter's lodge with horizontal gold-colored facade bands," says Peter Verhoofstad, director of MGB Cladding Systems. "The facade bands are made of 4 mm aluminum composite and finished in a C32 (middle light bronze) anodized look, which guarantees optimum color fastness."

Initially, the facade bands were to be made of 3 mm anodized aluminum. "Already in the calculation phase we advised an alternative for this, which was more aesthetically and price-wise interesting," Verhoofstad said. "We worked out three options: a panel in 3 mm anodized aluminum, a panel in 4 mm aluminum composite with a RAL1019 finish and a panel in 4 mm aluminum composite with a C32 anodized look. The appearance, colorfastness and sleek look of the latter façade panel won over both the architect, client and
contractor convinced."

The Van Mossel office features an HSB facade, over which MGB Cladding Systems installed an aluminum flag structure (U-profiles with sketch plates). "Then the aluminum composite panels were folded, screwed and glued around this," Verhoofstad said. "At the location of the hall, sandwich panels were applied, to which we again attached aluminum flags and composite panels. This ensures a uniform look and feel." The biggest challenge was the windows on the office floors, which were constantly staggered. "In addition, the length dimensions of the HSB elements created varying buckling points. In order to come out well both at the top and bottom, we made an additional adjustable rear construction." Round facade elements were used in several places, constructed from multiple parts and carefully glued at the factory.
