Play of panels turns facade into architectural gem
The facade of the new swimming pool consists of 1,500 m² of Trespa® Meteon® panels in an aluminum gray color and with a satin look. The interplay of panels creates a depth view and results in an architectural gem.

When working in construction teams, all parties involved immediately sit down together, so little or no time is lost. This also happened in Monster, where, under the leadership of BAS1S Architects and main contractor De Vries en Verburg Bouw, the burned-down swimming pool De Boetzelaer is rising from its ashes.

"It will be a futuristic building in the shape of a rock with a very complex facade. That's why, as a specialized subcontractor in ventilated facade cladding, we were involved in this project from the start, to help think about the elaboration of that facade," says Joost Gijsbers, commercial sales manager at Flow Facade Cladding. "What ultimately emerged was an architectural gem constructed from 8 mm thick Trespa® Meteon® panels in Metallic M51.0.1 ST and Natural Slate Matt Rock NA18 colors. These panels made of decorative HPL compact material have a defined viewing direction. By rotating the surfaces 180° relative to each other, you get a depth view from a distance, giving the appearance that the facade is protruding."

Flow Cladding from Lieshout sees the use of wood as cladding increasing recently, but also works out solutions with fiber cement, plastic and aluminum. Only glass and bricks are not part of the product range. "We always want to guarantee our customers the best quality, so we only use high-quality materials and work with fixed selected partners for their processing. The engineering is done completely in-house," Gijsbers continues. "For this project, 1,500 m² of Trespa® Meteon® panels were cut and pre-drilled on CNC machines and finally assembled on site. The engineering and work preparation took 4 months, while the execution took 6 months."
