Whether you are a project developer, contractor, government agency or private individual, working with experienced partners on new construction and renovation projects still builds in a certain level of security. That is why Groothuis Bouwgroep approached assembly company Bincx to build the steel and concrete structures and roof and wall cladding for Westerman Multimodal Logistics' new SMARTLOG distribution center in Nieuwleusen. The specialist from Kootwijkerbroek, which is doing everything under its own management, will deliver the distribution center completely finished in 25 weeks.
In early September, Westerman Multimodal Logistics will inaugurate its new logistics center, thanks to the expertise of and good cooperation between construction partners, such as Bincx. "What once began as Van den Brink Montage has since grown into a specialist in steel and concrete structures and roof and wall cladding with a great deal of experience in the construction of agricultural and industrial buildings. That is why we were also involved in this project by main contractor Groothuis Bouwgroep," says project manager Jordi Brom. "We always take full responsibility. For example, we look at which steel structure is needed and take care of producing, preserving, transporting and assembling it. The use of precast concrete structures and walls significantly shortens construction time. We also support our customers in choosing the correct roof and wall cladding, after which we ensure timely delivery and expert assembly."
Bincx started the construction work in the third week of January and in a period of 25 weeks the complete warehouse with a total area of 32,241 m² will be completely finished. "Good preparation and strict planning are very important for this. With a team of three mechanics and a crane operator, we started erecting the steel structures for the first hall and at the same time we assembled the 3-meter-high concrete walls and placed the hollow-core slabs. Then we assembled the steel profile plates on the roof and then next came the sandwich panels for the facades," Brom continued. "Then, in a similar way, we completed the shell construction of the distribution center from start to finish in 7 phases. The complete steel construction work will take a total of 20 weeks. We started slightly later with the roof and wall cladding. These will also take about three weeks longer, after which the finishing of the entire hall will take another four weeks. Before the construction holidays, this project will be fully completed."
