Facade construction company J.M. van Delft & zn. supplies and assembles the aluminum window frames and curtain walls for the office, warehouse, walkway and stairwell, as well as some steel facades for the new fresh distribution center of PLUS Supermarkets in Deventer. In total this involves almost 1,700 m2 of curtain walling and window frames.
Project Manager Jan-Willem Richt: "We work regularly with the main contractor of this project, our partner Heerkens van Bavel. That always goes smoothly. We started work preparation in the third quarter of 2022 and started construction in week 10 of this year."
The final phase of the project was the most challenging: installing the walkway over the loading docks, from the parking garage to the office area. "The rest of the detailing wasn't that exciting. But it was a nice, technical challenge to get that walkway all right and complete in place. On the underlying steel structure, our aluminum curtain wall was mounted. Especially because it is a floating construction of about forty meters long, this was quite a nice challenge. In this process, we were involved from engineering to assembly."
J.M. van Delft & zn. supervises the entire process from the quotation phase to engineering and from production to assembly and service after completion. "The architect makes the design and we detail this further in technical drawings, in consultation with the main contractor. We have an advisory role in this. After final approval, we order the materials, plan the production, arrange transport to the construction site and take care of assembly."
Richt is satisfied with the course of the project and the cooperation with other parties. "Everything went well together. Of course there are always some points of attention. For example the planning, this is always neatly on paper from all parties before the start of construction but changes regularly during the project. Just when you can then solve it together, it leads to a fine cooperation and also a beautiful project. "
