'Advice and results combined, tailored to demand'

The complete E-installations for the public areas in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands will be provided by Energie Techniek BV, part of NEXTON. "NEXTON thinks in solutions," said general manager Eugene Soffers. "The organizational and management structure of such a project is of course unique, and that requires an installation process completely tailored to the demand."

"We combine advice and results in a way we call 'resultancy.' NEXTON is not a traditional installer and no longer thinks in traditional pigeonholes like E and W, consulting, engineering or execution," says Soffers. "The customer's question is central in all cases; we offer solutions." The execution is divided into a number of lots, or phases, which are delivered step by step. "For example, we provide the complete E-installations, including access control, fire alarm systems and power supplies for the traffic areas and infrastructure of the Mall. They are smaller subprojects together, but the sum is obviously more than the parts. "Techniplan made the installation design up to the VO, NEXTON is doing the rest, completely in BIM. The project includes a large component of special lighting and the shopping center is fully equipped with wifi. The construction time is 36 months; the total contract sum runs into tens of millions.

Soffers: "We run with all the construction streams for three years. The Mall is a good example of how we operate. NEXTON offers consultancy and results in one. Resultancy is what we call it: solution-oriented installation."
