Building a city is like putting together an intricate puzzle. Each piece has to fit perfectly. In the case of CityPromenade in Nieuwegein, Ferrocal BV is an indispensable link. As a specialist in air and ventilation ducting, Ferrocal's expertise made a crucial contribution to this large-scale, sustainable project.
Ferrocal, founded in 1933 and based in Brummen, has been a reliable partner in commercial and residential construction for many years. The company, with some fifty employees, designs, manufactures and assembles air technology systems entirely in-house. "We have our own factory where we customize ductwork for every application," explains project manager Arjan Rohaan. This expertise, combined with years of construction experience, allows Ferrocal to respond flexibly to each client's requirements and wishes. The team knows exactly what it takes to get the job done efficiently and professionally.
execute.
CityPromenade consists of four imposing residential towers with a total of 452 apartments. For these towers, Ferrocal installed some 6 kilometers of pour-in ductwork. "It's a big project for us," says Rohaan. "The ducts, which provide ventilation in the apartments, were prefabricated and installed on site. The shafts were designed so that during the manufacturing process the bracing was already made to fit. They connect seamlessly to the cast-in facilities and run from bottom to top as if they were Lego."
One of the biggest challenges with this project was logistics. "The construction site never stands still," Rohaan explains. "And we have to ensure that our prefabricated materials arrive exactly on time." Thanks to in-house transportation and efficient planning, Ferrocal air ducts can deliver on time without disruptions to the construction process. For example, for the intake through the prefabricated balconies, the company has ensured a neat connection with grilles so that fresh air can be optimally supplied.
The complexity of CityPromenade requires custom solutions. "For the balcony connections, we worked closely with other construction partners to ensure that everything fit perfectly," Rohaan said. Ferrocal also developed special carts to deliver the entire installation including connection materials ready-to-use and without packaging waste. "We like to think along with these kinds of sustainability solutions that make the construction site neat and
keep safe."
With one hundred apartments now completed and the schedule on schedule, the end of the project is in sight. Over the next few months, Ferrocal will work to complete towers B, C and D. Ferrocal's facilities in the parking garage will also be started up and some of the commercial spaces will be ventilated. "Once fixed power is in place, we can set up the ventilation and the apartments will be delivered," Rohaan said.
"We are proud of what we are putting in place here," he concludes. "With our expertise and customized solutions, we are making an important contribution to the quality and sustainability of CityPromenade." Ferrocal ensures that residents will soon be able to enjoy an optimal living environment.
