Energy market challenges call for good energy management

Over the past sixty years, Elektropartners has evolved from an electrical installation company to an installation architect. Together with sister company Protectiepartners and the Domoticapartners division, the independent family business from Heerhugowaard offers clients total solutions. "The energy transition provides the necessary challenges."

From light and power installations to data networks, fire alarm systems, security and building automation: Elektropartners provides it. Not only that: clients receive advice in advance on the best solution for their specific situation. "In projects, we like to think along from the design phase. That way we know exactly what the client wants and the final installation meets their expectations," says commercial manager Roald de Jong. "The energy transition currently poses many challenges. Especially in our region, where we are facing a lack of grid capacity."

Smart battery solutions

Elektropartners offers various solutions for this, such as batteries and hydrogen generators. Recently, an external battery in the form of a sea container full of lithium cells was installed at the new Nh1816 Insurance building in Oudkarspel to provide the building with sufficient energy. That battery is partly powered by electricity from solar panels. "Battery solutions cost money, but by being smart with them, they pay for themselves within five years. After that, they only make money."

Energy Management System

In addition, De Jong also sees the demand for smart charging solutions for cars, buses and trucks only increasing. "We notice that it is becoming increasingly important to have a good energy management system so that all components, such as the grid, self-generated solar power and charging solutions can communicate well with each other. We have developed our own system for this. It can also be used for smart purchasing in the energy market."    

Elektropartners' energy management system is a combination of hardware and software and is already running satisfactorily at several high-profile customers, including Nh1816 Insurance, Tuincentrum Heerhugowaard and Dekker Warmerhuizen. "Tuincentrum Heerhugowaard, for example, has some energy left over and chooses to deploy it at a charging station. This investment also pays for itself."

Always the right solution

Elektropartners is currently working on various building transitions, for example in Delft. Here, a nursing home cum retirement home is being transformed into a residential community where seniors can live independently. "The energy issue also plays a role here. All homes will be equipped with an induction cooktop and a heat pump. In addition, many seniors in particular have electric cars, so charging solutions are needed. We offer the right solution to these kinds of challenges."

Like any technical company, Elektropartners is facing a tight labor market. The company therefore took several initiatives to still get qualified and motivated personnel. De Jong: "We are a recognized training company. We work a lot with schools and do a lot with and for trainees. We also train lateral entrants. Anyone who is handy and has the right mentality can come to us. Especially with the rate at which everything is really electrifying now, our work will only increase."

Consulting, design, installation, service and maintenance

In short, Elektropartners evolved from a socket installer to a total caregiver. The company provides the design of the complete electrical installation and also has a service and maintenance service that is available 24/7. Among other things, this service is responsible for the maintenance of the electrical installation of various schools, the ZiggoDome and, of course, those of its own regular customers.
