Sustainable heating and ventilation technologies

Central heating installations are designed to achieve and maintain a comfortable indoor climate in buildings under all conditions and within a reasonable time. For such installations general contractors call on specialists, such as Werkendamse Verwarmings Industrie. The company was involved by Bouwonderneming Stout in the preliminary stages of the realization of the Verde Vista Centrumplan new construction project in Zoeterwoude. All 150 apartments will have underfloor heating, installed by Klimaatvloeren Nederland, and will be equipped with an all-electric ventilation heat pump from Inventum.

Sustainability and energy efficiency were also considered in the design of this apartment complex. "Insulation and airtight construction is important. But heating, cooling and ventilation are also necessary to achieve a healthy and comfortable indoor climate. Therefore, our partner Klimaatvloeren Nederland integrated an underfloor heating system in each apartment," says Frank Oostendorp, project manager at Werkendamse Verwarmings Industrie. "Furthermore, all-electric heat pumps from Inventum were chosen, which heat the apartments and provide hot water by recovering energy from the ventilation air. These systems also ventilate the apartment 24 hours a day, creating a healthy indoor climate. It also reduces CO2 emissions by 30 to 45% as well as lowering the user's energy bill. Unlike many other similar installations, where units must be provided on roofs or in the ground, Inventum here provides a solution with a separate ventilation heat pump system for each individual apartment."

Preliminary process important

For over 50 years, the Werkendam-based company has specialized in the development and installation, as well as maintenance and service of central heating, climate control, air conditioning, measurement and control technology and renewable energy. "For Verde Vista Center Plan, we were engaged at an early stage by main contractor Stout. This allowed us to think along with Inventum in the preliminary phase to find a suitable solution, so that an optimal result could be achieved in each apartment," indicates the project manager. "Currently, the underfloor heating is being installed. In the spring of 2023, the ventilation heat pumps will also be installed. This is not our first project for Construction Company Stout and once again the cooperation is optimal."
