Cervix Concrete, that was its name since 2004. But that is now Preco. A name change for a reason. Preco has moved and can now provide clients with a complete package of precast concrete components, with all the benefits that entails.
Yes, confirms commercial director Theo Kool, 2019 was a turbulent year because of the move in April from the former location in Ede to the current one in Apeldoorn. "In Ede we were in a rented building, this one in Apeldoorn is owned. Here we have the space to expand our capacity and have our own concrete plant with which we are thus self-sufficient."
The new location is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, says Kool. This allows the vision of serving as a total supplier to be fulfilled in the best possible way. "We can serve the customer for every requirement and supply a complete package, consisting of columns and beams, stairs and landings, gallery slabs and balconies, insulated and non-insulated walls - both structural and room-separating - and, which is new, nowadays also hollow-core slabs. In other words, we can completely relieve the customer of all their worries, including engineering and assembly. You see that efficiency on the construction site is becoming increasingly important. That's where we come in. Among other things, with elaboration in 3D which reduces the chance of errors on the construction site."

Preco, which is active throughout the Netherlands but also has clients in Germany and Belgium (and is currently even working on a project in South Africa), offers customers further advantages. There are no weather conditions that could affect the production process, says Kool. He further points to the short lines of communication, making communication smooth and efficient. "The customer has only one instead of multiple points of contact. That offers advantages in work preparation, among other things." He then points to the fact that products from the same factory simply match better. "The precast elements have the same base and finish. That ensures flawless processing. In addition, we can tailor the logistics process to the client's requirements, i.e. deliver at the right time. We have our own means of transport and work with a regular partner; that makes us very flexible. And then, of course, there is our broad knowledge and years of experience."
As an example of a recent project, he cites Chefs Culinar in Nijmegen, a building with a floor area of 17,500 square meters and a height of 18 meters. Chefs Culinar is a European-wide wholesale chain in food, non-food and fresh produce. Customers include restaurants, hotels and businesses. Kool: "For the new building in Nijmegen, we produced a total of 157 columns, 250 beams, 2,800 square meters of precast concrete wall, 26 docks, 22 stairs and 16 landings. And also assembled, mostly immediately after delivery because there was hardly any storage space. This is a great example of a project where we were able to emphatically show our face as a total supplier. A big project, because we can handle projects of any size, from small to large."
