For the new distribution center and office of cooperative DOOR in Maasdijk, Wijnveen Aluminiumbouw BV delivered and installed various aluminum facade elements. Family business Wijnveen, which has existed for almost 125 years, made, among other things, an important contribution to the imposing office facade.
"Commissioned by De Vries en Verburg Bouw, we are performing this work," said Wijnveen project manager Pieter Bas Bovee. "We are among this contractor's regular partners. Because we both stand for high quality and transparent cooperation, we have a good click." Wijnveen was awarded the contract in mid-May 2019. Production started in the fall.
Wijnveen produced about 1,500 square meters of curtain walls for the hall and the office, with covers that extend 288 millimeters beyond the façade. "The curtain walls are partially fire-resistant and equipped with solar control glazing," says Bovee. Wijnveen also provided the aluminum frames and doors, the fire-resistant doors and the automatic sliding doors. At the production area, the windows were fitted with 4-millimeter-thick HACCP film. Bovee: "We work primarily with Schüco profiles. These are delivered to our production site at one length and we process them into project-specific products."
"In late November, we assembled the first aluminum facade parts on site," Bovee continued. "We first installed the frames and curtain walls of the hall. Then we assembled the large curtain wall of the office and finally the doors and frames in the first floor area. At the last minute, we also delivered and assembled some interior window frames." Work on the shell is almost complete. Meanwhile, Wijnveen has also received an order for the interior construction. That work is still in full swing and will continue until final delivery later this year.
