A sandwich panel is a popular and durable building material for insulating and cladding roofs and/or facades. The sandwich panels consist of two steel or aluminum panels with a layer of insulating material between them. The various sandwich panels for roofs are highly insulating and waterproof and therefore suitable for all roof constructions both for pitched and flat roofs.
But where is the rainwater? Fortunately, it is finely dry inside. Rainwater flows to a pumping station, ditch or pond, or disappears into the soil. Wastewater (sometimes mixed with rainwater) flows to a pumping station. When it rains heavily, the sewer system can discharge the extra water through emergency outlets: overflows.
Rainwater
Rainwater is collected by gutters installed at the house. Through downspouts, the water is drained or collected. More and more municipalities are requiring their residents to provide their own rainwater collection from their homes. Existing connections of the rainwater discharge to the sewer are then removed. Collecting rainwater yourself has a sustainable reason. The use of so-called gray water prevents water wastage and reduces a home's water consumption.
Drain
Wastewater goes to the sewer anyway. That's all the drains in your home from kitchen, bathroom, toilet, sinks, washing machine and scrubber drains. It is important that the drains run vertically so the dirty water can get away easily. There may be more or less air in the pipes than necessary. To prevent this, the sewer has a pipe that runs through the roof to the outside. Air disappears from this pipe. This keeps the air in your home fresh.
The sewage system around your home
Between your roof and the gutter, it is best to have a leaf catcher. This will keep the gutter from getting clogged. Downspouts usually connect to the public sewer system. There are several pipes that run through the back of your home to the front. These pipes meet at the front of your home. When wastewater is kept separate from stormwater, there are two pipes that exit into the street. Rain and wastewater then have their own sewer lines.
You need a relief manhole if your stormwater and wastewater are not kept separate, but end up together in a sewer line. A relief manhole keeps water from entering your home if the line is clogged or there has been a lot of rain.
A well-functioning sewer system is important for human and animal health and for your wallet. Therefore, do not throw wet wipes, deep-frying fat, oil, medicine residues and leftover chemicals down the toilet or sink.
