A wooden signature for Nieuwegein's future

In the heart of Nieuwegein there will be four sustainable residential buildings. Each with a unique look, yet attractive to all. That is CityPromenade. A large-scale project that wood product specialist Skilton B.V. knows what to do with.

CityPromenade is a real transformation for Nieuwegein. Skilton is making a nice contribution to one of the four new eye-catchers: residential building Monaco (Building B). A great opportunity to show how years of experience in timber frame construction are paying off.

Leading carpentry factory

"In recent years, the construction industry has changed a lot," explains Davy Prins, business manager at Skilton. "Demand became greater than supply and a need arose for new possibilities. This is what we, as a carpentry factory, are responding to. We lovingly put our years of experience in the construction industry to use to meet the changing demands of the market. This is why we supply, among other things, HSB prefabricated elements. In this way, projects are completed much faster and we avoid excess waste." 

Skilton's complete product portfolio guarantees quality, safety and reliability. Consequently, the range of services is broad: pitched roofs, flat roofs, exterior walls, interior walls, storey floors and complete wooden houses. "In short: in the field of timber construction, we can supply an awful lot. Moreover, our materials are FSC-certified and we will transport our products emission-free. A true eye-catcher

For CityPromenade, Skilton is producing and supplying the façade closing elements and frames for the Monaco building. "The building is a real eye-catcher that you can see from afar. It's always nice to leave your mark on it," Prins emphasizes. How did Skilton get involved in the project? "Developer Koopmans Bouwgroep has been a relation of mine for some time," explains Prins. "I've been in the business since I was 16 and have built up quite a network. Koopmans knows we have the capacity to make larger projects run smoothly. So that's how the ball got rolling." And that makes for a nice addition to Skilton's project portfolio: "We run both small and large projects, but CityPromenade is a great example of the breadth of our expertise!"
