Circular and maintenance-free cladding
At Erasmusveld, over 8,500 m2 of Neolife cladding type Cover 6 in Sand and Night colors was incorporated.

Circular and maintenance-free cladding

A sustainable, climate-proof and ecological new residential area in The Hague, that is the starting point of Proeftuin Erasmusveld. And, of course, this includes a suitable cladding. Heren 5 Architecten therefore chose Neolife from LJ Solutions. The natural wood composite is maintenance-free and circular: over time you can reuse the panels completely or even upcycle them up to three times. All Neolife cutting waste was therefore collected via Neo Collect.

Back in July 2021, the first contact was made with LJ Solutions. "The architect was incredibly keen to apply Neolife," begins Roel Tromp of LJ Solutions. "As a sustainability adept, he praised the circular thinking and the appearance of the facade material. It is also maintenance-free and has the same appearance as a wooden facade. With projects like this, we like to think along from design to assembly. We like to make time for this and take our time. So we extended the mock-up at the brick supplier (the plinth of the houses is made of brick, ed.) with our Neolife cladding in various flavors. That way, they were able to make a balanced
choice."

Fantastic result

Being subservient to clients is what typifies LJ Solutions and proved it again in this project. "We go very far in our service and that is appreciated," says Tromp. "Initially, two fire classes were required for the same facade. Neolife was proposed for all facades. Finally, after much research, consensus was reached on one type of Neolife. This project involves over 8,500 square meters of type Cover 6 cladding in Sand and Night colors. As with all other projects, we also included the installation company in the preparation process.

We are involved from design to assembly and provide a practical elaboration and technical description. In this way, a fantastic end result is guaranteed for years to come."

All Neolife cladding waste at Erasmus Field has been collected through Neo Collect. "The cladding is delivered new in large wooden crates. We ask the assembly company to deposit all the cutting waste in those crates. With Neo Collect, we collect the crates again. They go back to the factory in France in a full load and are also reused. The cutting waste is then upcycled as raw material for new Neolife products. And so we also come full circle with the cutting waste and nothing goes to waste."
