Durable and completely maintenance-free. Circular slatted facade for Hanoidreef

In the search for a circular and maintenance-free facade for "Hanoidreef 2.0," architect Frank Stedehouder of Mex Architects chose a slatted facade in Neolife from LJ Solutions. It is yet another project in Utrecht to be embellished with this natural wood composite. And there is a logical explanation for this, according to Roel Tromp of LJ Solutions.

Neolife not only has an attractive appearance with the charm of a wood facade, but above all, it is an extremely sustainable product, Tromp says. "It is listed in the National Environmental Database with an extremely low EQI score of 2.37. Provided it is properly ventilated when installed, it results in a 100% maintenance-free facade. This ensures a favorable total cost of ownership. It is therefore a rewarding product for housing corporations because they do not have to set aside a budget for periodic maintenance."

Nesting boxes

LJ Solutions is a party that likes to think along in specific issues. And that was appreciated here at the Hanoidreef, according to Tromp. "We maintain a pleasant relationship with both the architect and contractor Plegt-Vos and have already done several projects together in Utrecht. Each project has its specific requirements. In this case, we were asked for a solution to 'house' bats in the facade. Furthermore, we also provide customization for the entrances, so that the whole fits perfectly with the vision of the architect. Of course, we also have an eye for the contractor, because assembly-technically the system is also very interesting."
