Beautiful views, without noise complaints

On the Betuwestraat in Tilburg, where there used to be a playing field and four houses, housing corporation Tiwos built an apartment building with 40 social rental apartments in a green park and close to the city center. With their ample light, modern finish and beautiful views, the apartments exude quality and living comfort. From the apartments you look out over the entire Jeruzalem neighborhood, with a view of the AabeFabriek and impressive residential towers at Piushaven.

To meet noise and ventilation requirements, Mview+ fitted the loggias on the noise-exposed side with full-glazed parapets and M-view balcony glazing with a cushioned slot. The quieter sides received only full-glass parapets. “Special about the spandrels is the hand rail, in which the guide rail is integrated as standard. Including a demountable finishing profile,” says Waldo Duin, director of Mview+. “This offers the possibility of adding balcony glazing in the future, without having to modify existing parapets. Moreover, the image remains unambiguous. In addition to noise, our balcony glazing provides excellent protection against weather influences such as wind, rain and snow. Those who apply balcony glazing can therefore enjoy their outdoor space in the early, high and late seasons.”

Outdoor Climate

In combination with the cushioned slots, loggias with an outside air climate are created, which provides excellent compliance with the minimum ventilation requirements (3 liters/m2/sec) from the Bbl, says Duin. “Moreover, the residence area behind can also be ventilated soundlessly. A baluster-less parapet ensures maximum transparency and prevents leaks on the floors below.”

Dutch Design glass solutions

All Mview+ products involve in-house developments and are manufactured in its own factory in Tiel. “The products all provide optimal living and working comfort. Both for inside and outside and from new construction to renovation and transformation,” said Duin. “Within our range we distinguish six product groups. Following on from the M-view balcony glazing, these are the Silent Air Facade Screens, MetaPlus rear windows, Sliding Locks, Total Glas glass facades & doors and Total Glas facade slats. Far-reaching customization is also possible. All our solutions are based on the pillars of insulation, light and sound, consist mainly of glass and are applied as ‘pure’ as possible in projects.
