The anchors at Xylino are anything but standard. "We supply over two thousand consoles and attachments," says Willisa Jonkers, sales associate in the Construction Anchoring Department at Jonkers Construction Metal. "That ranged from consoles with complex welded joints to special stacking pins made of stainless steel." The latter - tapered, threaded pins - connect the wooden modules at the corners, forming the foundation of the structural connection.
For Xylino, Jonkers Bouwmetaal supplies not only the anchors, but also the wind bracing, stability strips and fencing. Almost everything is produced to size. "From engineering to delivery: this entire project was supervised by us," Jonkers said.
The quality requirements are high. A number of parts first had to be delivered and approved as samples. S355 steel was chosen - a strong material that is excellent for structural applications. The steel was partly hot-dip galvanized and partly electrogalvanized. The latter method is more environmentally friendly and thus fits well with the project's sustainable ambitions.
The fact that Jonkers has mastered both techniques makes the company a flexible and complete partner. "We are not just a supplier, but really think along with the design," Jonkers says. "All consoles are drawn and marked in-house for streamlined processing on the construction site."
Jonkers Bouwverankering exists since 1986 and is part of Jonkers Bouwmetaal, which besides anchoring also produces stairs, fences, steel frames and curtain walls. The company supplies standard products from stock and custom solutions for timber construction, among other things. With its own production in the Netherlands and Poland and a sharp eye for detail, Jonkers is a solid player in building anchoring.
What makes working for Xylino special, according to Jonkers? "The combination of customization, sustainability and technical challenge. This is truly a project we are proud to work on."
