Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
"The most beautiful distribution center in the Netherlands." That's how Stertil sales manager Herman Cohen calls the new NewLogic III distribution center. Commissioned by Heembouw, Stertil engineered, manufactured and installed 37 dock levellers, 37 dock doors, 2 ground level doors and 36 dock shelters.
NewLogic III is a state-of-the-art distribution center at business park 'Het Laar' in Tilburg, right on the A58. "A real eye-catcher," says Cohen. "That applies not only to the futuristic design, but also to the high level of sustainability. NewLogic III more than meets the requirements of BREEAM Outstanding. Nice that we contribute to that with our products."
Airtight outer shell
Stertil's dock levellers, doors and shelters fit seamlessly with the vision of DOKVAST, the owner of the distribution center. The real estate company has extensive experience with BREEAM and approaches the energy category from the Trias Energetica. This strategy for energy-efficient design focuses on three steps: ensure an airtight outer shell, use sustainably generated energy and use fossil fuels sparingly. "We contribute to the airtight shell," says Cohen. "We applied 80-millimeter-thick dock doors with a high insulation value. The doors have burglar-resistant panoramic windows."
Levellers and shelters
Cohen continues: "Our well-sealed dock levellers also make an important contribution to the BREEAM score. We supplied and installed 34 dock levellers of 3 by 2 meters and a capacity of 8 tons. The other 3 dock levellers are so-called jumbos, measuring 5 by 2 meters. They are extendable and have 10-ton capacity." Equally important for the airtightness of the distribution center, are the dock shelters. They ensure that no air enters or leaves the building before, during and after loading or unloading. With high-quality platform bumpers, Stertil ensures that trucks can dock safely.
DOCC Control
The doors and levellers are equipped with sensors. These sensors keep track of any malfunctions, as well as how often the doors and levellers open and close. Based on this data, Stertil can quickly react in case of malfunctions and optimize maintenance. Cohen: "Via DOCC Control's app, the data are read out. DOCC Control is DOKVAST's super-smart building management platform, which is currently being implemented on NewLogic III. We are involved in this for the doors and levellers. Very nice to be involved with the future of building management in this way."
