Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
After hotels such as Pakhuismeesteren Rotterdam, Marriott Beach resort Curaçao and New Kit Amsterdam, HSM Glas also provided nhow Amsterdam RAI with the necessary interior glass. Logistics were the main focus.
"Last March, Pleijsier Bouw asked us to help think about the elevator glass," says HSM's Sales and Project Manager Albert van der Linden. "We calculated the composition of the glass, assuming a line load of 3.0 kN/m². We were then commissioned to supply and install the shower walls, mirror walls and mirror profile frames in the hotel rooms. We also provided the day edges of the entrance door to the bathroom with stainless steel. Furthermore, on the 23rd floor we installed two mirror ceilings, each 5 meters in diameter."

In November 2018, HSM began assembling the glass and mirror walls. Van der Linden: "Every two weeks, we measured one floor. Then we had eight to 10 days to assemble the glass, stainless steel and mirrors. We prepared this well by sorting out all the materials for each floor in advance. That way the assembly could start quickly and the train of works kept moving. Despite the enormous size, the work went smoothly. Of course we were faced with difficult tasks at times, but together with Pleijsier Bouw we always came up with a solution. Partly because of that smooth cooperation, the work went top notch."
