Stair railings with LED lighting: The beautiful and functional eye-catchers

Finding bicycle parking IJboulevard is never a problem. Beautiful, illuminated railings on the bicycle steps show the way and guide visitors to the bike racks. The municipality of Amsterdam found the solution with ILLUNOX to upgrade the lighting to an energy-efficient eye-catcher and an added value to the look and feel of the IJboulevard.

ILLUNOX manufacturer Lagusski started developing and manufacturing the stair railings with LED lighting in 2007. The energy-efficient lighting is stylishly integrated into the handrails and follows the walking lines of buildings and public spaces. Meanwhile, the first systems have been further developed into a wide range of standard and customized products, suitable for indoor and outdoor use and finished in stainless steel or with a coating color of your choice. For every project, the ILLUNOX range offers an appropriate choice to upgrade assembly areas into a bright, orderly place that feels pleasant and safe.

Thinking partner

For the illuminated fencing at the IJboulevard, ILLUNOX was approached early in the project. "We thought along with the client and architect from the first contact," says Saskia de Jong, commercial director of ILLUNOX. "How could the track systems with LED lighting be integrated as attractively as possible? What were the requirements for the electrical supply? And when could what be implemented? In the process, all products and work materials had to be delivered to a logistics hub in advance. That was a nice extra challenge. Despite the fact that as a finishing party we can always be the last to do our work, we were able to perform our assemblies perfectly within the agreements and deadlines."

One-stop-shop

ILLUNOX develops, designs and produces railings in-house at the production site in Wijchen. Based on the wishes of the architect and/or client, everything is realized by our own professionals. De Jong: "Because we custom manufacture and supply both the handrail system and the LED lighting, including the necessary power supply boxes, with the ILLUNOX product range, we offer our customers a complete total solution. In doing so, we also don't turn our hand to specific customization."

Meanwhile, ILLUNOX illuminated railings have found their way into many train and subway stations, foot and bicycle bridges, entrances and stairs in and around public buildings, concert halls and restaurants. Not only new buildings, but also gathering places where the ravages of time had struck were given a contemporary appearance again with the illuminated handrails.
