Van Mossel Vans & Trucks is building a new dealership in Dordrecht. The branch includes a state-of-the-art showroom, two separate workshops with 31 rolling doors and an office area. From the state-of-the-art equipped facility, Van Mossel can respond to any service request.
Van Mossel Vans & Trucks awarded the construction contract for the new branch through a private tender to contractor Kleijngeld. The latter has already completed several works for Van Mossel Automotive Groep to their satisfaction. Van Mossel will contract its own suppliers for the installations, interior fittings and workshop equipment.
Scheduling is a challenge with any job, and this is no different with the construction of the Van Mossel facility. "We started on July 1, 2022," says Edward Bakx, project manager for Kleijngeld. "The completion date is scheduled for April 1, 2023. So within nine months the entire building should be up, including the structural finishes. In addition, a high level of finishing is expected and the asphalting of the outside area is also part of our remit. In order to accomplish all this on schedule, we brought forward as much work as possible. As a result, by the end of December we were wind and watertight and ready to begin the finishing work."
In February, the outdoor area was fitted with sewers and curbing. It was then profiled and asphalted. "We're talking about a 14,000 m2 site," notes Bakx. "That's as big as two soccer fields! Fortunately, the weather cooperated and we were able to complete this part within the construction time as well."
A large canopy will be the eyecatcher of the establishment. The design was made within the design framework established by Mercedes-Benz. The canopy will have rounded corners, be 50 cm high and protrude 3 meters from the facade. Bakx: "The canopy is an extension of the steel structure, which will later be filled in with an aluminum composite. This canopy will soon be image-defining for the entire facade."
