With door communication systems for both renovation and new construction, Vercoma offers "plug & play systems" that are future-proof, says general manager André Husslage. "Door communication should not be an underthought in technical specifications. For us, every apartment complex is unique."
"What we find is that in the vast majority of cases a door communication system is an autonomous system in a building. Where a few years ago it was thought that building automation will always be added to the door video screen, it turns out that in most cases it is operated with mobile devices. After all, no one is willing to walk down the hall to turn off the lights or turn down the heating. What is the current standard, however, is forwarding a call to your smartphone. And that's something our systems offer as a matter of course. Vercoma is close to the customer; we listen carefully so that we can quickly identify trends. Beyond that, we have an excellent in-house R&D department that develops and makes unique technical solutions."
As the first supplier on the market with a full IP door communication system, Vercoma is the only one in the Netherlands with a full-IP door communication system over a Cat5 bus infrastructure after further development, continued Husslage. "This system offers the many advantages of a full-IP door communication system, combined with the deployment speed and convenience of a traditional bus system. In fact, we now have a number of customers who only install the system with ready-made patch cables, making iPlus-BUS also the first fully pluggable door communication system on the market. The lightning-fast P2P communication between units comes from the lack of a delay server in the system. And iPlusBUS has AES256 Encrypted commands for video, audio and data. Thanks to free firmware updates, iPlusBUS is always up-to-date."
For renovation complexes, there are the standard 2-wire bus systems. "In the past we did run into the limited flexibility and capacity of the system. Since the advent of GTwin - several years ago, large complex projects are no longer a challenge: this system can be used in almost any complex situation. Moreover, in nine out of ten situations, the existing cabling can be reused, resulting in substantial savings in labor during renovations. Even with the worst existing cabling, good results have still been achieved."
What makes GTwin unique are "fused" splitters for the monitors, Husslage said. "In case of a short circuit in the cable caused by one resident, the other residents will not be affected. GTwin offers a wide range of solutions ranging from an inexpensive audio intercom unit to a 7" video monitor, obviously with the possibility of transferring the call to a mobile device. Besides the fact that GTwin is the door communication system for renovations, it is also very suitable for new construction complexes."
Vercoma supplies the above two premium systems with a 5-year warranty. Husslage: "With us, everyone is a 'preferred partner.' That's why customers come back to us. We take the time for our relationships; ultimately, everyone benefits from a door communication system functioning smoothly for decades."
