In 2025, Breman Installation Group celebrates 100 years of craftsmanship, 100 years of family business and 100 years of Breman. What began in 1925 as a bicycle repair company has grown over a century into a family business with nearly 1,600 installation experts who are passionately building a sustainable and energy-positive future.
A good corporate culture is the basis for the success of any organization. At Breman Installation Group, they even have a name for it: the Breman System. "The foundation for this was laid as early as 1972 by one of the five sons of founder Tijmen Breman: my father Reind Breman," explains René Breman. "He believed that the people who provided the labor had as much right to the organization as the shareholders. And so our nearly 1,600 employees now have equal say ánd share in the profits."
The five sons developed the bicycle repair business into an installation company, which has grown at lightning speed. Both organically and through acquisitions. By now, the third and fourth generations of Breman are at the helm of the family business, which consists of 26 complementary branches in the Netherlands and Germany. Breman Installatiegroep takes care of new construction, renovation and transformation of homes, schools, care buildings, sports halls, multifunctional accommodations, offices and industrial buildings and is active in the field of installation technology, roofing, electrical engineering, fire protection, flue gas extraction technology and service and maintenance. Yet the family character has never disappeared.
"100 years of Breman is a moment we are never going to forget," Breman said. "It is not only a milestone, but also inspires us to innovate and cooperate for the next 100 years. The course for the coming years is therefore bold: everyone energy-positive. We want to give more energy than demand from our employees, customers and earth. Our employees must be energized by our work. Moreover, we stand for equal opportunities. Also for people with a disability or distance to the labor market. Customers must be energized by our cooperation. Moreover, we take our responsibility in the energy transition. In our Energy Transition Knowledge Center, for example, we advise customers on making their real estate more sustainable in a realistic and feasible way. We are also committed to the realization of energy-neutral and affordable homes. We focus on the complete life cycle: from design to realization, maintenance, revision and recycling. But we also focus on building with few installations. Because what you don't need, you don't have to use as a raw material."
"The goal for 2030 is an employee and customer satisfaction of 8.5 and a CO2 reduction of 50% across the entire chain," Breman says. "To make this possible, we are working on circular and energy-positive buildings and the electrification of our vehicle fleet. Furthermore, in cooperation with our suppliers, the materials transition is being further initiated." For the 2050 goals, Breman Installation Group asked for input from employees still at work around that time. How do they want to live and work in 2050? And what role can Breman play in this? "From this came very nice ambitions regarding social living, more greenery and the right technologies. In the coming period these ambitions will be further elaborated, so that we will have something to celebrate in another hundred years."
