Premium door intercom system for Parkstad block S

On the spot where the new district Parkstad, Feijenoord City and the Tweebosbuurt in Rotterdam South intersect, an impressive new residential block is being built. 'Parkstad Block S' consists of a tower of about 45 meters with 14 floors and 79 apartments, a gallery-access block with 34 apartments and 24 single-family houses for social rental. Commissioned by housing corporation Hef Wonen, part of Vestia, LEVS architects designed the imposing new building. Remmers Bouwgroep was responsible for construction, while KSO Installations realized the electrical installations. Including the door intercom system from Vercoma Communication Systems.

KSO Installations and Vercoma can fall back on a long and fine relationship, says Paula Helsloot-Mone, Team Leader Sales Internal Services at Vercoma. "Moreover, our products were already included by Ingenieursburo Linssen in the specifications for Parkstad Block S. So when KSO Installations was awarded the realization of the electrical engineering, the choice for Vercoma was a logical one."

Powerful and fast

"For this project we made two offers: a system over IP and a premium 2-wire door intercom system," Helsloot-Mone says. "The 2-wire GTwin system was already prescribed by Ingenieursburo Linssen and KSO Installations accepted this recommendation." The GTwin system is very powerful, has the capacity to cover long distances and can handle a large number of connections, she says. "In addition, GTwin is easy and quick to install, meeting an important desire in the market. Last-but-not-least, installer and end user are assured of a 5-year warranty."

Perfect talk-listen connection

"In the 45-meter-high tower, the GTwin system is combined with a code-scrolling panel, in which the names and other data of occupants can easily be changed," Helsloot-Mone said. "Without the need for the building manager to come on site. In the gallery block, a code-scroll panel including an additional module was chosen to enable the requested A through L letter addition." The code-scroll panels were pre-programmed by Vercoma and delivered including a free connection diagram with dipswitch settings for the monitors, for quick addressing by the installer. "In the apartments, TEKNA-S GTwin door video monitors with horn provide a perfect talk-listen connection. If desired, the system can be expanded in the future with options such as call forwarding to the free GCall App for smartphones."

Following Parkstad Block S, Vercoma may also deliver a Full-IP door video system with cloudbased access control system for Block K3 (Imagine), commissioned by Schipper Electrotechniek. This order is scheduled for later this year.
