Smits Vastgoedzorg is coordinating the renovation of 495 dwellings and the realization of 6 new disabled dwellings, divided among the 3 apartment buildings of project Prinsessenflats in Prinsenland (Rotterdam). For good air quality in the homes, it is calling on Bevico (Barendrecht). After all, the expert in ventilation technology is one of her regular partners. The maintenance and renovation of the electrical installations and the installation of, among other things, new meter boxes, smoke detectors, intercom systems and cabling is done by Biemond Elektro (Bergschenhoek). Both installation companies are part of PronkGroep.
"Since we perform work for this client more often, we know perfectly well what is required of us. For this project, we proposed a type C demand-controlled ventilation system. The collective ventilation system through a roof fan can be controlled on an individual level thanks to a control valve. This way the ventilation system draws the polluted air out of the apartments," indicates Job Doornbosch, relationship manager at Bevico. "Indeed, in each apartment we install such a proportional control valve, which controls the ventilation based on the relative humidity and presence detection (CO2 sensor). These control valves are then linked to one collective exhaust unit for the entire building."
Biemond Elektro's installation team provides the electrical connections for the ventilation system, as well as many other electrical installations. "Since the buildings will be completely gasless and electric, we are replacing the meter boxes in all apartments and providing a connection for an electric cooking stove. We also check the smoke detectors. If they no longer work properly, are defective or simply missing, we install new ones. Furthermore, we inspect the existing electrical facilities to see if they still meet all requirements in terms of safety and legal warranty," says Marco Zwarteveld, project manager at Biemond Elektro. "The old intercom systems in the apartments and at the entrance will make way for new digital units. Finally, we are also integrating the necessary cabling for the solar panels, because each apartment will be connected to a number of solar panels."
