Balcony and sliding wall systems tailored to the market

Clients in the construction industry are increasingly demanding co-makership from construction partners, in development and engineering. At Solarlux, specialized in the development and production of folding walls, conservatories, garden rooms, balcony glazing and sliding systems, customization is always standard, says account manager André Jansen. "We are a system house that takes care of everything, from R&D to assembly. Sizing, materialization and assembly methods are tailored to the customer's and its partners' requirements."

Solarlux Nederland's organization is completely focused on the user, whether that be a developer, architect, housing corporation, contractor or private individual, says Jansen. "Their wishes and requirements are always the starting point. Our factory in Germany, which is just an hour across the border in Melle near Osnabrück, can produce to order. As far as balcony systems are concerned, even modular if required, as in the case of the Piazzaflat in Gorinchem. In this case, the balcony glazing is part of the "second facade skin," which as a whole accounts for much of the reduction in energy consumption. In Ulft, for example, we built sixty conservatories that make a major contribution to the passive house concept of the commissioning housing corporation. The south-facing, uninsulated conservatories form a thermal buffer in this regard. In all cases, we provide the assembly ourselves. In doing so, we not only contribute to the user requirements, but also unburden the contractor."

Solutions for high-rise buildings
Clients and architects are increasingly going directly to the product solution they want for themselves, and as such are coming to Solarlux. "The SL 25 balcony system can be custom manufactured and executed in full glass or with an aluminum frame. The SL 23 sliding system, thanks to its glass thickness of up to 17 mm, is perfectly suitable for high-rise buildings with additional wind loads." With the increase in construction volume in the Netherlands, prefabricated assembly and speed of construction are becoming increasingly important. "Increasingly, we are being asked for systems with a full-floor height or a more robust version of the same concept." Solarlux does this with its own R&D in Germany that can operate in a fully demand-driven manner. "For the special high-rise apartments of The George and Valley at the Zuidas, we developed unique folding wall concepts, with very high wind and water tightness. For the luxury rental apartments of Boston in Amsterdam, we came up with an assembly solution that yielded a multiple of the amount in additional costs for the contractor. As a development specialist, we are happy to contribute to the innovation of the entire construction column."
