Bernadottelaan, Haarlem | Demand-driven ventilation per apartment

During the maintenance of the 201 flats on Bernadottelaan, a renovation kit specially tailored by Velu will be used in combination with the unique ventilation system OxyGreen Collective. This system enables individual demand-controlled ventilation per apartment in the stacked building.

Since 1988, Velu (part of the Nijburg Industry Group) has offered innovative solutions that closely match the ever-increasing demands for ventilation and a good indoor climate in residential and commercial buildings. "As Velu, we have various solutions in our program with which energy-efficient and comfortable ventilation systems can be created," says Michel Luesink, manager of Sales & Business Development at Velu. "The implementation can differ per project, so it is important to look carefully at the best configuration. So that as universal a solution as possible is provided. Then a trial version is always made before it goes into final production."

Velu has already been involved in the Bernadottelaan project in the preliminary phase by HMB-W technique, a part of Hemubo. Luesink: "The earlier we are involved in the project, the nicer we like it. Together we ensure that the client's ambitions are achieved." A customized renovation kit was supplied with this project. This consists of a box with a removable lid, which contains all the components: the control damper, any additional extraction point for the range hood and space for the fire damper mounted in the fire separation. "All components of the ventilation system are prefabricated in a neat enclosure with inspection hatch. We do this in our own factory in Sappemeer." For the installer, this has advantages, as one gets a completely finished unit delivered per dwelling. This allows for more efficient work in execution. No additional finishing is then needed in the home, which results in significant cost savings. Luesink: "The planning is discussed in advance with the project manager so that there are always sufficient sets present and one can work well. Thanks to the removable lid, the components are always accessible for service and maintenance."

Because the homes are often renovated in occupied condition, residents have less inconvenience as they have fewer people over and one is finished faster.
